Objective ID Federated Authentication

Objective ID Federated Authentication allows users to sign into Objective software using their existing internal identity credentials. This eliminates the need for users to remember application specific login details and provides your IT Team the added security benefits of the same identity across multiple systems. During sign-in, users are redirected to your internal authentication system, such as Microsoft Entra ID Azure AD Multi-factor Authentication.

Authentication standards

Federated authentication allows users to log in to Objective Cloud services using their existing credentials from a third-party identity provider. The following authentication methods are supported:

  • OAuth 2.0

  • OpenlD Connect

  • SAML (e.g., via Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services)

  • Okta

Note:  Objective recommends using an identity provider that is accessible without any company VPN, otherwise access to Objective Trapeze or the Trapeze Portal can become confusing for the user. Ultimately this is your decision and depends on your security profile.

Note:  This guide includes instructions for configuring federation with Microsoft Entra IDAzure AD, OAuth 2.0, OKTA or an Active Directory Federation Service (AD FS). If you require instructions for a different system or authentication standard, please contact the Objective Trapeze Support Team.
