What application will you be lodging today?
There are three general categories of application: Standalone applications, amendments to an existing consent and supporting applications.
Standalone applications
These are not related to an existing consent. These include applications for building consent, solid fuel heater building consent, project information memorandum, certificate of acceptance and exemption from the building consent process. You will provide the property address as the next step.
Amendments to an existing consent
These used to make changes to your existing plans before or during construction, such as an amendment to a building consent or amendment to a solid fuel heater. Your building consent authority advises you whether you need to apply for an amendment.
You will select the existing consent as the next step. You may only create an amendment against an issued consent.
Supporting applications
These add information to or modify information on an existing building consent, such as applications for extensions of time or code compliance certificate or memorandum from a licensed building practitioner. You will select the existing consent as the next step.
You may only create supporting applications against a consent that has reached the appropriate stage. For example, you may create a CCC application after the consent is issued and before the consent is at CCC issued.
Other restrictions may be applied for some supporting applications. For example, you may have only one draft or active CCC application at a time on a consent.
