Content Actions

In the Discovery UI users can take actions on selected documents. Either individually or as a group. Following are some actions that users can take against the content indexed in their Discovery UI.

Some actions like "View Image" only show up depending on if the action is allowed based on file type or source repository.


Download Document

The Download Document Widget allows you to download an item from your search to your download folder.

This can be done from the bulk action menu at the top by selecting multiple files and clicking Download Selected

View Metadata

Allows users to view the Metadata for the file

Delete Document

Allows users to remove the indexed file from the search list.

Caution:  If you check the Hard Delete box this will delete the file from the Source Repository as well.

Edit Metadata

To update the indexed metadata use the edit metadata form. Update the desired fields and select update.

This content actions creates a link to the file that can be shared with others. Users can set the expiration time of the link to one, three or seven days

Once you select the expiration time you will be given a link that you can copy and send to others.

View Image

Use this action to view any image files.

 


Export Metadata

This action can be found in the bulk actions menu at the top of the search results. It allows users to download the metadata of a single file or multiple files.

When you select Metadata Export you are given the option to export the metadata of any selected documents or all of the documents in your search results.

  • Download Files with XML: This option will batch the selected files with the metadata export as a zip file. If selected you will have two options Download selected documents: Download only the currently checked documents Download all searched documents: The current search will be executed again and all returned documents will be downloaded.

  • Use EDRM Format: The Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) is a framework that outlines standards for the recovery and discovery and of digital data.

  • Comment: Will add a comment to the "message" section of the xml export

Click submit to have 3Sixty compile the download file. Once complete the file can be found in the Exports page for future use.
